Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 7, 2025

For the Terms governing your use of the Website, see our Terms of Use.

1) Background

HI-DOW INTERNATIONAL INC. (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates HiDow.com (the “Website”). In connection with your use of the Website, we collect information about visitors, including information you provide and information provided by your internet service provider. We share information with parties that help us enable, operate, and improve the Website, or that are needed to fulfill transactions or enhance your experience. We take data privacy seriously and endeavor to collect, use, store, and disclose user data (“User Data”) in compliance with applicable law, including, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). This Privacy Policy explains: (i) how we protect User Data; (ii) the rights and responsibilities of users and the parties that process User Data; (iii) our transparency practices regarding processing and sharing; (iv) our measures against breaches and unauthorized disclosures; and (v) how we address GDPR obligations, where applicable.

2) “Personal Data” Defined

“Personal Data” generally means information that directly or indirectly identifies you. It may include: (i) contact details (name, alias, postal address, phone, email); (ii) financial data (e.g., PayPal or card details); (iii) demographic data (e.g., ZIP code, gender); and (iv) other legal/sensitive data (e.g., social security number or attributes which, in combination, identify you). Under the GDPR, items like your IP address and certain cookies may be Personal Data in some contexts. Where GDPR applies to you, we will treat information according to its characterization under the GDPR, even if similar information might be treated as non-identifiable under other laws.

3) GDPR Roles and International Transfers

Controller and processor. Depending on the activity, we may act as a “data controller” (deciding purposes and means of processing) and/or a “data processor” (processing on behalf of another controller). As controller, we adopt compliance measures concerning collection, use, retention, access, and vendor oversight. As processor, we follow lawful instructions and implement appropriate safeguards.

Transfers outside the EEA. If Personal Data is transferred from the EEA to a country outside the EEA, we will comply with applicable transfer requirements under the GDPR and other laws.

4) Information We Collect

Visiting the Website. You can browse the Website without providing Personal Data. We use analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) and cookies to improve performance and understand usage. Aside from approximate location (via IP address), analytics data we use is typically anonymized or aggregated traffic data such as browser, device, and language. We do not collect your age, gender, or interests unless you provide them.

Sources of User Data may include:

  • Registration information you submit to create an account or access services.
  • Billing and payment information (e.g., PayPal, credit/debit card) to process orders.
  • Identity verification information (e.g., security questions).
  • Communication preferences and responses (e.g., email for alerts and newsletters).
  • Customer service communications and general feedback.
  • Precise geolocation, where permitted and enabled by you.
  • Device and technical data (hardware model, OS, device identifiers, network info, interaction data).
  • Usage data (access times, login/log-out, browser type, language, IP, referrer, pages viewed, features used, search terms, clickstream).
  • Information from lawful third-party sources (e.g., verification services, credit bureaus, financial institutions, mailing list providers, public sources). In some cases and where lawful, this may include government-issued identifiers and background checks.
  • Recruitment data you submit for job opportunities (which we may retain for future consideration).
  • Information from social media plugins used for sharing/following; these plugins are inactive until clicked and then subject to the third party’s privacy policy.

5) Cookies

Cookies are small files placed on your device that store information for recordkeeping. We use cookies to recognize visits, remember preferences, enhance features, tailor content/ads, assess campaigns, and analyze usage. Some cookies are set by us; others are set by service providers acting on our behalf. You can typically refuse or remove cookies via your browser settings; doing so may limit certain features. By refusing cookies, you accept responsibility for any resulting loss of functionality.

We may use cookies to:

  • Recognize returning users and manage capacity.
  • Customize layout, content, promotions, and advertising.
  • Measure interactions with features and assess marketing performance (including with partners).
  • Allow partners to measure behavior on our Website and across their sites, where permitted.
  • Collect anonymous statistics (e.g., session length, approximate location) to improve the Website.

6) Third-Party Advertising and Analytics

We may use third parties for metrics and analytics. These parties may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information such as IP address, device identifiers, browser details, pages viewed, time on page, links clicked, and conversions. They are subject to confidentiality and appropriate restrictions, but their cookies and tracking are governed by their own privacy policies. Learn more about interest-based ads at aboutads.info/choices.

7) Web Beacons

Pages may contain web beacons (pixel tags/clear GIFs) that help count visits, deliver branded services, and evaluate campaigns. Beacons do not themselves contain Personal Data, but may allow third parties to obtain technical details (e.g., IP, page URL, timestamp, browser type, cookie info). We may store related data in log files.

8) Location Information

Some services require access to location data, including precise geolocation. If you do not consent or later disable location permissions in your browser/device, affected features may not function properly.

9) Storage and Processing

We may process and store information ourselves or with third-party service providers under confidentiality and appropriate contractual safeguards.

  • Delivering technical notices, security alerts, administrative messages, and support.
  • Personalizing features and facilitating your use of the Website.
  • Measuring and analyzing performance, usage, and trends.
  • Communicating about the Website, products, services, surveys, and feedback.

11) How We Share Information

  • Affiliates. We may share with affiliated companies for marketing, improvements, and to offer products or services that may interest you (see Section 12 for marketing choices).
  • Service providers and partners. We share with companies that operate services for us (e.g., marketing, payment processing like PayPal, order fulfillment, advertising, and functional providers). By providing information, you consent to receiving communications from us or on our behalf.
  • E-commerce vendors/advertisers. If you provide Personal Data on a third-party commerce page reached from our Website, that data is collected under the third party’s privacy policy.

  • Business transfers. In a merger, acquisition, reorganization, divestiture, asset sale, or bankruptcy, information may be transferred as an asset, and you consent to such transfer.
  • Not sold or leased. We do not sell or lease Personal Data to unauthorized parties. Note certain filings may become public records.

Public areas. If you post in forums, blogs, or other public features, your content (and certain account details such as your alias) may be visible to others. Use discretion. We are not responsible for Personal Data you voluntarily disclose in public areas.

12) Offering You Choices — Marketing Options

To opt out of marketing emails from us, email info@hidow.com or use the unsubscribe instructions in those emails. You may still receive messages from parties to whom we disclosed information before you opted out; contact them directly to manage preferences.

13) Links

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Website. Other sites you access through links have their own policies, which may differ. We are not responsible for those policies. Other websites and companies are independently responsible for their own GDPR or other privacy compliance.

14) Security

We implement physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to protect Personal Data and restrict access to authorized personnel and providers. We use secure servers for encrypted sessions when appropriate (e.g., indicated by “https” or a lock icon in your browser). Nevertheless, no system is completely secure. You should handle your personal information carefully (e.g., avoid sending sensitive data through unencrypted email). See the U.S. Federal Trade Commission resources at ftc.gov for tips on identity theft protection. We assume no liability for loss, misuse, destruction, or alteration of information arising from breaches beyond our reasonable control.

15) Access, Correction, and Deletion

You may request a copy of your data by contacting info@hidow.com. We may need to verify your identity and will generally provide copies electronically. For subsequent requests, we may charge an administrative fee where permitted. If information is inaccurate, contact us to correct it. Where the GDPR applies, and subject to its conditions, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, and data portability. Deleting certain data may affect your ability to use the Website.

16) Deactivating Your Account

You may request deactivation or cancellation of your account via email or phone using the contact details below.

17) Children

The Website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit Personal Data from children under 13 or knowingly send them non-public requests. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it. If you are under 13, do not use the Website. If you are under 18 (or under the age of consent where you live), your parent or guardian must consent to this Privacy Policy and to your use of the Website.

18) How Long We Retain Information

We retain information as long as reasonably necessary to provide access to the Website and related services, or as required by law. Even after deactivation, we may retain information for a period consistent with legal requirements, limitation periods, and our legitimate interests (e.g., fraud prevention, fee collection, dispute resolution, investigations, enforcement of Terms, and compliance).

19) U.S. State Privacy Rights

Some U.S. state laws permit residents to request details about disclosures of Personal Data to third parties for direct marketing during the previous calendar year (e.g., California). If applicable to you, contact us using the details below.

20) Changes to This Policy

We may modify this Policy from time to time. The current version applies each time you use the Website. If we change the Policy, we will update the “Last updated” date and post the revised Policy on the Website so you know what we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. If we intend to use Personal Data in a materially different way than stated when collected, we will notify you by email (if available) and offer choices as required by law. Your continued use of the Website after changes signifies acceptance.

21) When This Policy Applies
